Day 01 Arrive Paro International Airport:
Arrive Paro International Airport from New
Delhi / Kolkata / Kathmandu / Bagdogra and
transfer to the capital city Thimphu. Afternoon
visit Takin Zoo, National Library, Tashi Chho
Dzong. Evening at leisure. O/n at Thimphu.
Day 02 Thimphu, capital of Bhutan (65 km 1
hrs drive):
After breakfast transfer to the capital city
Thimphu visit Handicraft Emporium, Bhutanese
traditional paper factory, National Memorial
Chorten, Buddha statue and Centenary Park
located very close to river and evening visit
the city for shopping or at leisure. O/n at
Thimphu.
Day 03 Thimphu to Punakha (77 km 2hrs 45 min
hrs drive):
After breakfast drive to Punakha via Dochula
Pass, stop at Druk Wangyal Chorten from here you
could have a panoramic view of the Himalayan
mountain range when the weather is clear. Drive
further down to Lamperi stop and explore Royal
Botanical Park for few minutes and proceed to
Punakha. On the way stop and visit Chimmi
Lhakhang temple or take a short walk. Afternoon
visit the majestic Punakha Dzong and rest of the
day at leisure. O/n at Punakha.
Day 04 Day excursion to Gangtey valley via
Wangdi (2hrs 30 min hrs drive):
After early breakfast drive to Gangtey valley
via old Wangdi town. The drive is to cooler
climes of Gangtey the drive is dramatic due to
range of scenic beauty that unfolds along its
route.During summers the hill slopes are covered
with pink, white and red rhododendrons and you
may even encounter some yak the old barking deer
or red panda. This valley is one of the most
beautiful open valleys in Bhutan and Gangtey is
the winter home to the endangered black necked
cranes (Grus Nigricllis) which migrate to this
valley around mid November from Tibet. The birds
fly back across the Himalayas to their summer
home towards Tibet and China (Nov – March).
Evening return to Wangdi. O/n at Wangdi.
Day 05 Punakha to Paro (142 km 4 hrs drive):
After breakfast drive to Paro and on the way
visit Paro Dzong located on the rocky outcrop of
the steep hillside overlooking both sides of the
valley drive back to the town. After noon visit
the old ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, 17th century
fortress that used to keep invaders from Tibet
and in1951 the fort was destroyed by fire.
Evening at leisure. O/n at Paro.
Day 06 Paro sightseeing:
After breakfast drive till the base of the world
famous Tiger’s Nest, clings to a sheer, 900m
above the ground which is the most popular
spiritual heritage sites. There is a belief that
the legend Padma Sambhava flew here from Tibet
on the back of a tiger. On the way to town visit
Kyichu Lhakhang one of Bhutan’s two oldest and
most sacred monasteries dating from the
introduction of Buddhism in the 7th century.
Rest of the day at leisure or visit the town for
shopping. O/n at Paro.
Day 07 Departure:
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your
onward destination.
